Malissa Ingram M.S., LAC
As a hallmark of her service, Malissa is a licensed associate counselor (LAC) (#A2206001) who seeks to cultivate and curate spaces for wellness. Centralizing one’s felt experience, Malissa has extensive training in Somatic Experiencing (SE) as a means to address the complexities of trauma-related life events. Coupled with the SE approach is Malissa’s utilization of the Internal Family Systems or IFS Model. It is Malissa’s belief that individuals who are assisted through therapy can become more self-led with the application of IFS interventions. The combination of both approaches along with other interventions tends to provide a wholistic approach to treatment from a systemic lens.
Malissa’s inspiration and motivation for serving clients stems from her life experiences as a mother to 3 young adults, a former military wife, as well as a veteran of the armed forces. Malissa also identifies as a person a part of the disability community. Her life experiences, education, and on-going training informs her advocacy work across minority and marginalized communities. Malissa provides trauma-informed, person-centered care to individuals 18 and older as well as relational care to couples and families.
Malissa received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and her Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Brown University. Malissa is also IFS and SE trained pursuing certifications as well. Malissa looks to further her education as a means to serve clients who pursue mental health and wellness.
