Alyson is a Licensed Associate Counselor (AR# A2005067). She received her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Brown University in Little Rock. She has worked in community mental health, hospital outpatient, residential treatment, and outpatient private practice settings.
Alyson works with many issues including depression, self-harm behaviors, and anxiety. Predominately, though, she works with clients towards healing after traumatic experiences. Alyson has completed EMDR I & II trainings and has recently begun a three-year intensive program in Somatic Experiencing based on the work of Dr. Peter Levine. She is also certified in administering the Safe & Sound Protocol based on the work of Dr. Stephen Porges. In order to work most effectively with individuals working to integrate traumatic stress, Alyson continues to pursue trainings and education to provide research-based approaches in addition to talk therapy.
